Mampara View Point (Raja's Cliff), Nelliyampathy
Raja's Cliff, also known as the Mampara Peak, is at an elevation of around 5250 ft above sea level. Forests, reservoirs, mountain ranges and waterfalls are visible from this cliff. This region has numerous coffee estates, beautiful tea gardens and cardamom plantations. Some of the animals that can be spotted by tourists here are elephants, sambar, leopards and giant squirrels.

Mampara View Point is a picturesque spot in Nelliyampathy, the hill destination of Palakkad district. From this peak, one can have the view of the entire stretch of the beautiful Palakkad gap and some parts of the adjoining Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu.
A trek to Mampara peak, about 20 km from Nelliampathy, with a view of the entire Palakkad range, is a real treat for the eyes. Once you reach these grasslands, caressed by clouds, the tranquility and the peace of the surroundings creep into you too.  You will be able to view the enchanting valleys below, the pristine thick greenery of the forests around and the lighter greenery of the paddy fields down the valley.

The dams at Malampuzha, Chulliyar, Meenkara, Mulathara and Walayar can be viewed from here, at a distance. Parts of Parambikulam and Tamil Nadu towns like Pollachi, Coimbatore and Mettupalayam too are visible from Mampara. Malayalam film Bhramaram, has been shot here. Mampara peak is situated near to Nelliampathy in PalakkadKerala. Nelliampathy is 52 kms away from Palakkad.
To reach Mampara, you have to journey your way through treacherous terrain in a four-wheel vehicle for two hours.  Mampara is 14 kms away from Nelliampathy.

Jeeps are the only vehicles that can travel this treacherous path to reach the top of the Mampara view point. There are more than seventy jeeps available for services regularly in the sixteen-kilo metre long hillside pathways. The shuddering journey almost takes two hours to complete. Charges for this travel will be Rs.600/- for the jeep travel to & fro.
From the Kesavanpara view point the Pothundi dam and Nemmara town can be seen. From Mampara view point the towns of Pollachi and Valparai can be spotted. Among the three prominent viewpoints in Nelliyampathy, Mampara is the highest one.
