Theerthagireeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Theerthamalai Village in Harur Taluk in Dharmapuri District of Tamil Nadu. This temple is located at the top of a hillock at an altitude of about 1200 feet. Presiding deity is called as Theerthagireeswarar and Mother is called as Arulmozhi Vadivambigai. This temple is considered one among the Thirupugazh Sthalams as Lord Murugan of this temple was praised in the hymns of Saint Arunagirinathar.

Festivals
10 days Masi Brahmotsavam (Feb-Mar)
is the most famous festival celebrated here. The wedding festival is conducted
on the 5th day, chariot festival is conducted on 7th day
and Sathaparana festival (Lord in reclining posture) is conducted on the 10th
day during the Brahmotsavam. Abhishekam is performed with 365 litres of milk on
the Tamil new year day (Chithirai 1 – April 14). Special abishekams are
performed at night followed by Girivalam (circumbulation of the hill) on
Purattasi Navaratri (Sep-Oct) and Aadi 18 (Jul-Aug). Special Pooja is performed
during English New Year day. Monthly pradoshas are also observed here.
Prayers
Devotees pray here for
brahmahatya dosha, wedding boon, mental peace, relief from various diseases,
child boon, wealth & prosperity and relief from debt burdens. Those seeking
child boon use to tie a cradle and also tie threads around the anthill. Unmarried
tie thread around the Pavala Malli tree for wedding boon. Devotees tie
thread around the anthill for relief from the adverse aspects of serpent
planets. Devotees consume the water from Agastya theertham for cure from
stomach pain, gastric problems and ulcer problems. It is said that the theertha
water contains copper and herbal properties. Devotees take bath in Agni
theertha for relief from heat related ailments.
