Vallimadurai Dam is located at a distance of 6 km from Harur, Dharmapuri District. It is newly constructed dam. The Varattar-Vallimadurai dam (Harur taluk of Dharmapuri) can store 110 Mcft. This dam will benefit 1,000 hectares. Under the Varattar-Vallimadurai dam, 1,050 hectares of single crop dry land in 10 villages of the Harur taluk are covered.

The dam receives water from its catchment area in Shevaroy Hills. Water will be flowing to the dam only during Monsoon season and remains dry if monsoon fails. The dam receives the water during the monsoon season and reaches the maximum level during Oct - Nov.
Season
The best time to visit is between Oct to Jan as the dam will be up to its full level.
Connectivity
Harur is connected by three state highways. There is bus service to ChennaiSalemCoimbatoreErodeVelloreTirupathi, Thiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri and Hosur. The nearest railway station is at Morappur, 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) from Harur. Vallimadurai dam is well connected from Harur.
