History
Sri Jaya Anjaneya Swami Temple located in Lalapet amidst
the picturesque locale is 300 years old. The temple is a Swayambu Temple. The
Lord manifested to the villagers some 300 years back when they were shifting
the Dhwajasthambha of Lord Varadharaja Perumal from Lalapet to a nearby
Kallawapallee village. The temple of Lord Varadharaja Perumal was first
shifted. Then while extracting the Dhwajasthambha, they could not move an inch
of it. They then tried to dig. It was when a red colored liquid oozed up from
the ground; they decided to stop moving the Dhwajasthambha from its original
place.
Then a pious elderly village head saw the vision of
Hanuman asking him to remove the idol of Hanuman underneath the Dhwajasthambha
and build a temple. The idol is south facing and adorned the name ‘Sri Jaya
Anjaneya’. In the days that followed, the Sannathi was built for Sri Anjaneya
Swami. ‘Maha Kumbabishekam’ was performed for this temple once in 1940 and then
in the year 1984.
Not only that the establishment of this temple has this
unique background, there is also a miracle stone which also indicates the
blessing and presence of the Lord in this wonderful and peaceful place in
Lalapet.
Worship to the Miracle Stone
There is a Miracle Stone in this temple which is oval
and slightly flat in shape, which is believed to have fallen from the Holy
Hands of Sri Jaya Anjaneya when He was carrying the Marunthu Malai’ to Sri
Lanka. Devotees willing their wishes to be fulfilled mount this Miracle Stone
and put their hands to the ground and pray to Lord Hanuman to fulfill their
wishes.
Then if the Miracle Stone rotates to its right then the
wish would be fulfilled, if it moves in left direction, then the wish wouldn’t
be fulfilled. If the wish or desire itself is wrong or not justified in the
Eyes of the Lord, the Miracle Stone does not move. The best time is Ekadasi
(11th day after Poornima or Amavasai), Thursdays, Saturdays or Sunday mornings
before nine is said to be the most suitable.
