Palani Murugan Temple – Lakshmi Narayana Perumal

Proceeding along the west street, a east facing temple,
a Deepasthambam and a stone mandapam indicates to us the presence of a shrine.
This is Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple. The entrance has pials and in the
interior, a brass flagstaff, Balipeetham and Garudan are seen near the Maha Mandapa.
This Vishnu temple is under the control of Palani Temple.
The gate of the Mahamandapam in the north is Swarga
Vaasal (Entry to Paradise). Garuda and Hanuman in stucco guard the entrance. In
the north wall of the entrance stucco of Garudalwar can be seen. When the
Perumal comes and stands in the Paramapadha Vaasal, it will appear as a Garuda
Sevai. The consecration of the temple took place in 1965. A seated Vishnu,
Alwar and Hanumar adorns north of the Mahamandapa.
Within a marble sanctum, a beautiful Narayana stands
close to Mahalakshmi. Devotees come in large numbers to worship him. Of all the
Perumal temples of Palani this is the most famous. Though the Varadar temple of
Ahobilam Mutt is grand, it is only in Balasamudram and not in Palani town.
