Siddhanatheswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thirunaraiyur in the outskirts of Nachiyar Koil in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Siddhanatheswarar / Vedeswarar / Ramanatha Swamy / Nareswarar and Mother is called as Azhagammai / Soundarya Nayaki / Parvathavarthini. The Temple is situated on the southern banks of Arasalaru River.
The Temple is situated on southern banks of Arasalaru River. The Temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams (Shiva Sthalams) glorified in the early medieval Thevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanars Tirugnanasambandar and Sundarar. The Temple is considered as one of the 182nd Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 65th sthalam on the south side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu.

History
This temple is believed to have been built by the Early Cholas. There are about 25 inscriptions in this temple dating back to reigns of Rajaraja Chola I to Kulothunga Chola III. The last consecration ceremony took place on 13th December 1999. This temple is under the administrative control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of Government of Tamil Nadu.

Margazhi Thiruvadhirai (Dec-Jan), Aani Thirumanjanam (Jun-Jul), Aadi Pooram
(Jul-Aug), Avani Vinayakar Chaturthi (Aug-Sep), Purattasi Navaratri (Sep-Oct),
Aippasi Skanda Shashti (Oct-Nov), Aippasi Annabishekam (Oct–Nov), Thiru
Karthikai (Nov-Dec) and Masi Shivrathri (Feb-Mar) are the festivals celebrated
here. Monthly Pradoshams is also observed regularly.

Prayers
Those suffering from
stammering and aspiring for a sweet voice pray to Lord and Mother performing
abishek with gingelly oil. Those suffering from skin diseases
perform abishek to Siddhar with oil on full moon days and Fridays and apply it
on their body as a medicine for relief. Those facing adverse effects of planets
pray to west facing Lord Dakshinamurthy and the Navagrahas. Devotees
contribute for the renovation of the temple, perform oil abishek to Lord and
Mother and offer vastras.

500 meters from Vandipettai Bus Stop, 1 Km from Nachiyar Koil Bus Stand, 9 Kms
from Kumbakonam Bus Stand, 9 Kms from Kumbakonam Railway Station, 10 Kms from Kumbakonam,
47 Kms from Thanjavur and 106 Kms from Trichy Airport. Thiru Naraiyur is
situated on the Kumbakonam to Thiruvarur Route. Thiru Naraiyur is in the
outskirts of Nachiyar Koil. Buses are available to Nachiyar Koil from
Kumbakonam for every 10 minutes.
