Koppu Konda Perumal Temple (Maayavan Temple), Peddanaickenpalayam, Salem
Koppu Konda Perumal Temple is situated over a mountain to the north of Peddanaickenpalayam known as "Koppu Kondan Malai (Mountain)" is a most famous worship centre for people all over the panchayat. This Temple is situated at 600 meters height. This Hill Temple is having nearly 2000 steps.




According to legend, 100 years before local peoples found a naturally formed Koppu statue in top of the hill, they placed it there itself and constructed a temple of Lord Vishnu, and hence it is called as Koppu konda perumal Temple.





There is another reason for its name because the hill is also Look like Koppu. The Temple has a well in such height always had water is a Miracle. There are Three Damaged Caves; one is in the west side of temple.



Another two Caves are under excavation. This temple is famous for Pooja's held at Every Saturday of the Tamil month of Purattasi (mid-September to mid-October).
