Vilakkoli Perumal Temple (Tiruththanka or Thoopul), Kanchipuram 
Thoopul, or Tiruththanka or Vilakkoli Perumal Temple (also called Deepa Prakasa Perumal Temple) located in Kanchipuram in the South Indian state of Tamilnadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD.




It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Deepa Prakasa Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Maragathavalli. Thoopul is the birth place of Vedantha Desikar, the acharya who created the Vedantha Siddhantha for Vaishnavites. Desikar’s life story has been depicted at this temple in form of beautiful photographs.




This sthalam is situated about 1/2 km from Ashtabujakaram temple in Kanchipuram. Puliyodharai (Tamarind Rice), Dhadhyonam (Curd Rice), Pongal, Chakkarai Pongal, Vada, Adhirasam, Murukku are offered to Lord as Prasadam.

Connectivity
The temple is just a kilometer from Kancheepuram bus stand. This sthalam is situated about 1/2 km from Ashtabujakaram temple in Kanchipuram. The temple can be approached by two ways.
1. Drive down straight from the Kanchipuram bus stand towards Varadaraja perumal temple, but don’t take the right indicated by the direction board. Instead head straight and after crossing the turn for the SH 116, you can see a gopuram in a small lane on the left. Go inside and it will lead to the temple
2. Travelling from Bus stand to Varadaraja perumal temple, just before Ashtabujakaram temple take a right to Vilakkoli Temple Street and keep travelling almost to the end. You can see the gopuram of Vedanta Desikar Sannadhi a little bit inside in the right side.
By Road:
The city of Kanchipuram is well connected with the other part of the states and it is few kms from the Quadrilateral National Highway. There are frequent bus services from Chennai and it takes 2- 3 hours to reach. The Chennai Metropolitan and the state express transport operate the services.
By Train:
Kanchipuram is connected with the southern part of the rail network and few trains are running through Kanchipuram. Suburban trains are running between Kanchipuram and Chennai beach on specified intervals.
By Air:
Chennai, the nearest international airport, is situated around 75 km away from Kanchipuram. Both public and private transport facilities are available at the airport.
