Arunchunai
Kaatha Ayyanar Temple is located in Ayyanarsunai River Bank which is located in
Melaputhukudi at a distance of 10 kms from Thiruchendur and 40 kms from
Tirunelveli. Natural water gushes out from the spring at this place. It is a
good picnic / excursion centre. Close to this hamlet is a forest with sand
dunes. This Temple is dedicated to Village Deity Ayyanar.
Ayyanarsunai
River Bank is worth visiting if you would like have a look at the famous
Melaputhukudi Ayyanar Temple, which is a popular tourist destination. The
temple is close to a natural spring known as ‘Sunai’, hence it is called
Arunchunai Kaatha Ayyanar Swami or Ayyanar Sunai. The village has many pretty
ponds and a charming thazhampoo groove.
