Namakkal is well connected to Tamilnadu and rest of India by all means of transport. It is the main centre for linking other districts via bus routes, especially to the North side (Salem, Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Bangalore), East side (Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur), South side (Karur, Dindugul, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari) and the West side (Erode, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Udhagamandalam (Ooty)).
By Road:
Namakkal is well connected to rest of Tamilnadu by Road. Buses are available to all major Towns and Cities of Tamilnadu like SalemChennai, CoimbatoreTrichyMadurai, ErodeDindigul and Karur. Namakkal is connected to the rest of India through National Highway 7. Buses from TrichyMadurai will pass through Namakkal to reach Salem and Bangalore.
By Train:
A new broad-gauge railway line from Salem to Karur via Namakkal started its service on 25 May 2013. Namakkal Railway Station and Rasipuram Railway Station are the two minor Railway Stations available in Namakkal District. Nearest Major Railway Stations are located at Karur and Salem.
By Air:
The nearest international airport is at Coimbatore International Airport (153 km) & Trichy (85 km) The nearest airport is Salem Airport had started from 15 November 2009, by the Kingfisher Airlines from Salem to Chennai
