Venugopala
Parthasarathy Perumal Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu located at
Chengam in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. It is more than 700 years
old. Its architecture and layout is similar to Annamalaiyar Temple. This is a Vishnu temple where Sri Rama worshipped.
Murals
The yuddha
kandam or the War Canto from the Ramayana is painted at this
Temple. The Venugopala Parthasarathy temple supported more murals, but only the
War Canto is extant. The whole story must have been painted on the northern and
southern flanks, with the story finishing in the central square.

The
temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
The 18
day Brahmotsavam in Vaikasi (May-June) is very famous as the Lord would be
coming in procession on Garuda (the eagle vehicle of Lord Vishnu). Also the
sixth day of the festival would be a feast to the eyes of the devotees to see
Lord and Andal exchanging garlands from the elephant vahana.
Chengam
Sri Venugopala Parthasarathy Perumal Temple festival is held annually in May in
makakaruta waxing service with great Karuda Sevai. For this festival temple
will be colored lights, fireworks, naiyantimelam, karakattam (dance), is beckoning.
Preparations have been made for the show by festival committee and sponsors.

Chengam
lies on the mid-way of NH66 plying from Bangalore to Puducherry via Thiruvannamalai. It is separated from Thiruvannamalai at a distance of 35km. It is well connected with
major nearby towns like Polur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Singarapettai, Pudupalayam, Uthangarai, Sathanur and Thandarampet.

buses ply from Chengam to Salem, Dharmapuri, Bangalore, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Chennai, Polur, Uthangarai, Hogenakkal, Pondicherry, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Tirupattur, Vizhupuram and Chidambaram.

town buses ply to Sathanur Dam, Kadaladi, Kanchi, Polur, Pudupalayam, Singarapettai, Neepathurai,
Melravanthavadi, Thaazhaiyoothu, Thandarampet, Pachal and many other villages.
