Garudeswarar Temple, Kanchipuram
Garudeswarar
Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Kanchipuram Town in
Kanchipuram District of Tamilnadu. Presiding deity is called as Garudeswarar. The
Garudeswarar temple is located in Adissonpettai. Garudeswarar is kept inside
the Muktheeswarar temple. This Garudeswarar was worshipped by garuda and his
mother. Garuda’s step mother Kathuru imprisoned his mother
Subhukarunai. He wanted to release his mother so he brought Amirtham from Devaloka
and gave it to his mother and released her. He worshipped this linga and
obtained the strength to kill his step brothers.
