Nellukadai Mariyamman Temple, Nagapattinam
Nellukadai Mariyamman Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Sakthi located in Nagapattinam Town in Nagapattinam Taluk in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. This Temple is considered as one of the popular temples present in Nagapattinam Town. The Temple is believed to be built in early 20th century CE.

The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east. The sanctum enshrines the Swayambhu idol and a copper idol of Mariyamman. She is four armed and holds a small drum, rope, knife and a skull in her hands. She is in sitting posture (Veerasana). The copper idol can be seen in front of the Swayambhu Idol. The anointments are performed to the copper idol and the Swayambhu idol is annointed with herbal oil once in a year. There is a separate shrine for Ellaiamman in the temple premises.
She is four armed holding several weapons with a five headed serpent acting as umbrella. There is a shrine enshrining a head of Amman can be seen in front of her shrine. Shrines of Chella Pillaiyar, Kappal Pillaiyar, Murugan with his consorts Valli & Devasena, Durga, Ayyanar with his consorts Poorna & Pushkala, Nataraja, Periachiamman and Kathavarayan can be seen in the temple premises. Kathavarayan is believed to be the guardian deity of this temple.

The Temple remains open from 07.00 AM to 12.00 Noon and
05.00 PM to 08.00 PM.

Thiruvadhirai, Chithirai Peruvizha, Aadi Tuesdays, Aadi Fridays and Aadi
Sundays are celebrated here with much fanfare.
