Adhinathar Jain Temple, Vellai, Thiruvannamalai
Adhinathar Jain Temple is located at Vellai Village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Vellai is located at about 3 Kms from Cheyyaru town towards Thavasi route. The Temple is believed to be 400 years old. The Jain temple is east facing and surrounded by walls on all sides. The temple has sanctum, Arthamandapam and a single prakara. Inside the sanctum, Shri Adhinathar stone plate carvings with Samavasaran Jinar eight features etched, without Lanchan, is established on the plinth.





One more Shri Rishabhadevar stone absolute-carving statue is on a separate platform in the south side of Arthamandapam. Shri Padmavathy Devi granite statue canopied by dilated five headed snake was also installed on the north side of aisle.  The sanctum is covered by single stage Vimana with padmam and Kalasha on the top. At the Griva section four Jinar mortar idols in sitting posture with tri-umbrella is under mahanasi exhibits on four directions.




At the top of the entranceway a Jinar mortar idol in the sitting posture with two whisk maids and tri-umbrella is seated inside a gallery. Though Jains are in minor number, the Daily pooja and rituals are conducted at the appropriate time. Contact: +91 9751521442.




Vellai is located at about 3 Kms from Cheyyaru town towards Thavasi route. The Temple is located at about 33 Kms from Kanchipuram and 101 Kms from Thiruvannamalai. Nearest Railway Station is located at Kanchipuram and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
