Ziegenbalg Museum Complex on the Admiral Street has the first printing press of India. The press was originally started in the Mission House on King's Street. The first book published in India, a Bible in Tamil, was printed here. The Ziegenbalg Museum complex, which has a prayer hall, reportedly housed the first printing press.







The German government helped in the renovation of the house. Tharangampadi is located at about 283 kms (176 miles) from the state capital Chennai and 30 kms from Mayiladuthurai, in Nagapattinam District. Nearest Railway Station is located at Mayiladuthurai & Nearest Airport is located at Trichy.
