Kothandaramar Temple, Kadayam, Thirunelveli
Kothandaramar
Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu located at Kadayam Village in
Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. Kothandaramar Temple was built hundreds of
years ago by the Pandya Kings as a memoir for the worship made by the legendary
Dasaratha King at Nithya Kalyani Ambal temple.
King
Dasaratha was praying for a progeny in his family, thereafter he begot the God
himself in the form of Sree Ramar. In this temple, the Garuda the "Periya
Thiruvadi" (instead of Sree Hanuman), is standing before the Kothanda
Ramar which is quite rare. The perennial river flowing just near Thalaimalai
Ayyan temple is also named Rama Nadhi.
