Mahakali Temple is located at Veerakeralampudur Village in Thirunelveli
District of Tamilnadu. The village is surrounded by two rivers Chittar
River and Hanumanathi. Both Hanumanathi and Chittar River merges rightly
exactly in this village thus forming the major tributary to Thamirabarani River.

Deity is called as Uchini Mahakali. She is holding Soolam in her hand and in
smiling posture and facing north. Urchavar is Uchini Mahakali located in the
Mandapam in front of Garbhagriha. Shrines for Ganapathy, Nagars, Kaliyamman,
Mutharamman, Madaswamy and Nagamman are located in the Temple. Theertham is
Chitraru. Sthala Vriksham is Neem Tree. The Temple is believed to be around
1500 years old.

Varushabishegam
on Thai Month, 10 days Dushera, Last Tuesday and Friday of each Tamil Month are
the festivals celebrated in this temple with much fanfare.
