Meenakshi Sundareshwara Deva Pandiya Swamy Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Valliyur in Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. The temple was built by King Kulasekara Pandyan. There is Peedam for the King Kulasekara Pandyan, his 4 brothers and Vadukachi Amman in the temple. Deva Pandiya Swamy is the Kuladeivam for several families of the Srivatsa gotram and other gothrams having their roots in and around Tirunelveli district and more specifically Vallioor. Legend has it that Sree Yogiswarar, a highly evolved and self-realized yogi took Samadhi in the temple in the form of a Snake and has been providing protection to all his dependent families for the last 500 years.
