Pathanchali Nathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Kanattampuliyur Village near Kattumannarkoil in Cuddalore District of Tamilnadu. The historical name of the place is Tirukanattumullur. Presiding Deity is called as Pathanchali Nathar. Mother is called as Kaanar Kuzhali / Ambujakshi / Kolavalaikkaiyal. This is a Shivastalam located near Thiru Omaampuliyur - worshipped by Vyagrapada and is on the Northern banks of the Kollidam river.







It is one of the shrines of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Thevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Sundarar. This is the 86th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 32nd Sthalam on the north side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu. It is noteworthy that three Shiva temples in Chidambaram, Kanattampuliyur and Omampuliyur are in a row.

Temple Opening Time
The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m and from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Festivals
Four worship services are offered each day. Shivarathri in February-March, Tirukarthikai in November-December, Aipasi Annabishekam in October-November and Tiruvadhirai in December-January are the festivals celebrated in the temple. Vaikasi Visakam and Arudra Dharisanam are the other noted festivals celebrated here.
Literary Mention
Sundarar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple. Saivite saint Sundarar had sung the glory of Lord Patanjaleeswarar as One whose head and foot could not be viewed even by Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahmma, one whose philosophy could not be fully understood even by the learned, one after whom all virgins run seeking his grace, whose temple is adorned with Kuvalai flowers on the bank of Kollidam in Kanattumullur.  I worship that great Lord. This is the 86th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 32nd Sthalam on the north side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu.

திருமணியைத் தீங்கரும்பின் ஊறலிருந் தேனைத் தெரிவரிய மாமணியைத் திகழ்தரு செம்பொன்னைக்
குருமணிகள் கொழித்திழிந்து சுழிந்திழியுந் திரைவாய்க் கோல்வளையார் குடைந்தாடும் கொள்ளிடத்தின் கரைமேல்
கருமணிகள் போல்நீலம் மலர்கின்ற கழனிக் கானாட்டு முள்ளூரிற் கண்டு தொழுதேனே.
