Tirukkallil Sivanandeeswarar Temple, Thirukkandalam, Thiruvallur
Tirukkallil Sivanandeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thirukkandalam Village near Kannigaipair in Tiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. The temple is situated on the banks of Kuchasthalai River. Presiding Deity is called as Sivanandeswarar / Tirukalleeswarar and Mother is called as Ananthavalli Ammai.






The temple is very small, neat and clean. It is built in the Somaskanda pattern with Skanda in between Sivan and Parvathi sannidhi. Inscriptions from the Chola, Pandya and Vijayanagar Emperors are seen here. Tirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple. This is the 18th of the 32 Thevara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalams in Thondai Nadu.

Temple Opening Time
The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Festivals
Tirukarthikai in November-December, Mahasivarathri in February-March, Skanda Sashti in October-November, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Navaratri, Full moon day in the month of Aippasi (Annabishekam), Thai Poosam and Margazhi Tiruvadhirai in December-January are the festivals of the temple.
Singers
In his Thevaram hymn, saint Tirugnanasambandar describes the mastery of Lord Shiva as a singer, dancer and wearing serpent ornaments. Yet he holds a begging bowl and resides in a Kalli forest praised by devotee scholars. This is the 18th of the 32 Thevara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalams in Thondai Nadu. Tirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.
Prayers
As per Brugu rishi those who worship Sakthi Dhakshinamoorthy here on Thursdays with Kalli flowers, after taking holy dip at the Nandhi Theertham, will get their hunger and poverty erased out, acquire great knowledge and wealth and get their wishes fulfilled. Tirugnanasambandar in his patikam says that those who worship here will acquire fame and happiness. Couples separated for some reason or other pray to Lord Dakshinamurthy by archanas with Kalli flowers for re-union.  People also pray for removal of obstacles in wedding proposals, freedom from poverty and all family welfare and prosperity. Devotees perform abishek to Lord Shiva, Mother Ananthavalli and Lord Dakshinamurthy offering vastras.
