Narthana Vallabeswarar Temple, Thirukoodalaiyathoor, Cuddalore
Narthana Vallabeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thirukoodalaiyathoor Village in Cuddalore District of Tamilnadu. The Temple is also called as Nerikkattunayagar Temple. Shiva is worshipped as Narthana Vallabeswarar and is represented by the lingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Gnana Sakthi and Parasakthi. The Temple is located at the confluence of River Vennaru and Manimutharu.  The temple complex covers around half acre and entered through a three tiered gopuram, the main gateway.

The temple has a number of shrines, with those of Narthana Vallabeswarar and his consorts Gnana Sakthi and Parasakthi, being the most prominent. All the shrines of the temple are enclosed in large concentric rectangular granite walls. The original complex is believed to have been built by Cholas, while the present masonry structure was built during the Nayak during the 16th century. In modern times, the temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The presiding deity is revered in the 7th century Tamil Saiva canonical work, the Thevaram, written by Tamil saint poets known as the Nayanmars and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam. This is the 35th Devaram padal Petra Shiva Sthalam on the junction of rivers Vellaru and Manimutharu and 3rd Sthalam in Nadu Naadu. Saint Arunagirinathar has also sang a song in praise of Lord Murugan of this temple in his revered Thirupugazh. The temple has four daily rituals at various times from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and four yearly festivals on its calendar. The Brahmotsavam festival is celebrated during the day of the Magam (February - March) is the most prominent festival.

Prayers
Student devotees pray to excel in education. Devotees perform abishek to Lord and Mother offering vastras. Memory is an important one for everyone as it is very essential for doing daily activities. Loss of memory will lead to life affecting problems. Loss of documents during registration of physical assets, loss of certificates for an interview, loss of knowledge during exams certainly affects everyone. Secondly, as Sage Agasthiar worshiped the lord of this temple so as to not forget the arts and knowledge that he learnt so far, devotees worship the lord here seeking a similar blessing. This is also a parihara Sthalam for those who born during the periods of Bharani and Makam Nakshatrams (constellation). Devotees whose birth Nakshatram are Bharani and Makam visit this temple for poojas.
