Aadhi Nayaka Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated
to Lord Vishnu located at Gopurapatti
Village in Trichy District of Tamilnadu. This

Aadi in memory of their sacrifice fighting the Islamic Invasion at Srirangam in
the 14th Century. Just as Srirangam is
located in between two rivers of the Cauvery and the Coloroon, the tiny village
of Gopurapatti is located in between two water canals Peruvalai Vaikkal and
Kambalaru.
Legends
Lord with Measuring Instrument:
There is
an interesting story about the deity. A vast area of land belonged to the
Srirangam temple in the area around Gopurapatti. It was here at the Aadhi
Nayaka Perumal temple that the farmers gathered to measure the rice they would
present every month to the Srirangam temple. On one occasion, when they did not
have a measure, it is believed that the deity himself appeared and provided the
instrument and helped them measure the rice. Hence, the Moolavar, in Bala
Sayana posture, is seen with a measure.
Place for performing Tharpanam:
Legend has it that those who want to propitiate
their ancestors can perform the annual rituals on the banks of Peruvalai
Vaikkal.
