Karapureeswarar
Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thiruparkadal
Village in Vellore District of Tamilnadu. This Temple is considered as Thevara
Vaippu Sthalam. The temple faces east and contains many inscriptions and
sculptures of excellent beauty. The Temple is having 3 tiered Rajagopuram.
Presiding Deity is called as Karapureeswarar and is facing east. Mother is
called as Abitha Gujambal and is facing south.
Thiruparkadal
is on the Chennai – Vellore (Bangalore) highway, beyond Thiruputkuzhi, about 22
kms from Thiruputkuzhi, on the left side of Highways while going from Chennai,
about 2 kms from the highways at the Kaveripakkam junction. Two beautiful
Vaishnavite temples are present side by side. It is said that this place can be
considered to be the 107th Divyadesam.
