Santhana Gopalakrishnan Temple, Kodiyalam, Trichy
Santhana Gopalakrishnan Temple is a Hindu Temple
dedicated to Lord Vishnu located at Kodiyalam near Mukkombu Dam in Trichy
District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Santhana Gopalakrishnan and
is facing east. Presiding Deity graces devotees along with Rukmini and Satyabhama
from the sanctum. There is also shrine for Lakshminarayanan in this Temple. The
original main deity was Lakshminarayana and about 100 years ago Krishna was
made the main deity. This is a small and old temple recently renovated.
This village has many traditions of having given to
the world many top eminents in Srivaishnava Sampradayam as well as Hindu
Religion. The Temple is located at about 2.5
Kms from Elamanur, 4 Kms from Mukkombu Dam, 4 Kms from Jeeyapuram, 4 Kms from Andanallur,
6 Kms from Gunaseelam, 14 Kms from Woraiyur and 23 Kms from Trichy. Just before
Mukkombu Dam, take a left cross the level crossing and drive a short distance
to the temple. There is also a Shiva temple
nearby. Nearest Railway Station is located at Elamanur (2.5 Kms) and
Nearest Airport is located at Trichy (24 Kms).
