Pancha Varneswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Eekkadu near Thiruvallur Town in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. This Temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old. Presiding Deity is called as Pancha Varneswarar and is facing east. Lingam is housed in square Avudaiyar. It is believed that the square avudayars are the lingams installed by rishis and sages and so they are very ancient and considered very sacred.




Also, the lingam changes colours now and then; No clear time period when they will change colour and how long they will persist. Sometimes it persists for many days and sometimes many months also. Mother is called as Tripurasundari and is facing south. There are shrines of Ganesha, Nardana Ganapati, Dakshinamurthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma, Chandikeswarar, Ayyapan, Navagrahas and Bhairava in the Temple premises.




Eekkadu is situated on Thiruvallur to Thamaraipakkam Route. The Temple is located at about 200 meters from Eekkadu Old Post Office Bus Stop, 4 Kms from Thiruvallur, 3 Kms from Thiruvallur Bus Stand, 6 Kms from Thiruvallur Railway Station, 6 Kms from Kaakkalur, 16 Kms from Thamaraipakkam, 50 Kms from Chennai and 50 Kms from Chennai Airport.
