Mayuranathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Panappakkam Village in Vellore District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Mayuranathar and Mother is called as Soundara Nayagi. Goddess Umadevi worshipped Siva in the form of peacock, hence the name Mayuranathar. Nandi Devar worshipped Lord Siva in the form of tiger. Also, Indran, Agasthiar and Brahmma had worshipped Lord Shiva here. The place is also known as Mayurapuri, Indrapuri, Brahmapuri and Puliyoor.


63 Nayanmars Idols can be seen in the temple corridor. Sthala Vriksham is Palm tree. The Temple is located at about 400 meters from Panappakkam Bus Terminus, 14 Kms from Kaveripakkam, 30 Kms from Arcot, 29 Kms from Ranipet, 28 Kms from Walajah Railway Station, 26 Kms from Arakkonam, 27 Kms from Arakkonam Railway Station, 54 Kms from Vellore, 90 Kms from Chennai and 79 Kms from Chennai Airport.
