Chengalvaraya Swamy Temple, Nediyam, Thiruvallur
Chengalvaraya Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan located at Nediyam Village near Pallipattu in Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu. This is a small north facing Temple located at atop hill. The Temple can be reached after a flight of 600 steps. The Temple is situated on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Legends
Devotees should worship Chengalvaraya Swamy before worshipping at Thiruthani:
It is believed that Lord Murugan before going to Thiruthani stayed here for some time. Due to this, Devotees should worship Chengalvaraya Swamy first and then they can proceed to Thiruthani for worship.

Lord Murugan of this Temple is believed to have been worshiped by Indra with Neelodhbala (Blue water lily) flower. Muruga’s consort Devasena is represented with this flower and she is considered Indra’s daughter.
The Temple
This is a small north facing Temple located at atop hill. The Temple can be reached after a flight of 600 steps. Presiding Deity is called as Chengalvaraya Swamy. He is gracing in the sanctum accompanied by Valli and Deivanai. He is having four hands with single face and is facing north. The Hill is called as Gaja Giri as it looks like an elephant. There is a beautiful small Lily pond on top of the hill. It is advised to visit the temple in the evening because there are no trees or shades on the hill path.

The Temple is located at about 7 Kms from Pallipattu, 8 Kms from Pallipattu Bus Stand, 12 Kms from Nagari, 11 Kms from Ekambarakuppam Railway Station, 12 Kms from Nagari Railway Station, 12 Kms from Nagari Bus Stand, 29 Kms from Thiruthani, 35 Kms from Sholinghur, 43 Kms from Arakkonam, 52 Kms from Thirupathi, 65 Kms from Thiruvallur and 113 Kms from Chennai Airport. The Temple is situated in the Pallipattu to Nagari road, the hill can be seen on the right side of the road. An entrance arch leads to the Chengalvaraya Swamy Temple.
