Konganagiri Murugan Temple, Tiruppur
Konganagiri Murugan Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan located at outskirts of Tiruppur Town in Tiruppur District of Tamil Nadu. The Temple is believed to be 1200 years old. The Temple is also considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as it has been mentioned in Appar Hymns. Saint Arunagirinathar had sung his Thirupugazh Hymns on Lord Murugan of this Temple.


Legends
It was believed that the Temple was built by Kongana Siddhar, one of the famous 18 Siddhars of ancient Tamil Land.


The Temple
The Temple is situated on a small hill. The Hill is filled with Palai Trees. Presiding Deity is called as Thapas Kumaraswamy / Kandha Peruman. He is housed in the sanctum. He is accompanied by Valli and Deivanai. Normally Yantras will be installed at the feet of the idols but here it is installed on the Peedam. Milk given to the Lord here will get automatically overflow without heating. It is one of the unexplained phenomenon in this Temple.


There are shrines for Venkatesa Perumal in the north-west corner, Selva Ganapathy in south west corner and Navagrahas with their consorts & Vehicles in north east corner of the Temple. Sthala Vriksham is Vakkanai Tree (Persimmon Tree).


Prayers
Devotees pray here to get rid of Marriage obstacles, Graha Doshams and Chevvai Doshams.

The Temple is located at about 300 meters from Konganagiri Bus Stop, 3 Kms from Tiruppur Railway Station, 5 Kms from Tiruppur Old Bus Stand, 6 Kms from Tiruppur New Bus Stand, 14 Kms from Avinashi, 20 Kms from Palladam, 45 Kms from Coimbatore Airport and 52 Kms from Coimbatore.
