Chokkanathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thiruvidaimarudur Town in Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk in Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu. Thiruvidaimarudur is considered as equivalent to Kasi. This Temple is considered as one of temples of Pancha Linga Sthalams of Thiruvidaimarudur. The Temple is situated in the north street of Thiruvidaimarudur Mahalingeswarar Temple.

The Temple
This is an east facing temple with an entrance arch. Stucco image of Mother Meenakshi marriage posture can be seen at the top of the entrance arch. Presiding Deity is called as Chokkanathar / Sundareswarar. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Lord Vinayaga and Lord Murugan can be found at the entrance of the sanctum. Mother is called as Meenakshi. She is housed in a separate south facing shrine. There is a separate east facing shrine housing Ashta Dasa Bhuja Maha Lakshmi Durga in the north western corner of the Temple premises. Rahu Kaala Pooja is famous in this shrine.
