Moolanathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Keelathanjavur Village in Nagapattinam Taluk in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Moolanathar and Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari. This Temple is considered as Avathara Sthalam of Seruthunai Nayanar, one of the 63 Nayanmars. There is a shrine for Seruthunai Nayanar in the Temple premises. The Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about this Temple. The place was called as Marugal Naatu Thanjai in ancient times.
