Maravaneeswarar Mahadevar Temple
is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Keezha Pazhuvur Village in
Ariyalur Taluk in Ariyalur District of Tamil Nadu. The Temple was built by Kandan,
Pazhuvettaraiyar chief ruling over this area under the imperial Cholas. The
Temple is also called as Alamantha Maravaneeswaram / Pasupatheeswarar Temple.
Presiding Deity is called as Maravaneeswarar Mahadevar / Pasupatheeswarar and
Mother is called as Oppanai Nayagi. The Temple was in dilapidated condition.
Nandi can be found facing the sanctum.
Few broken Sculptures can be
found at the entrance of the sanctum. The Temple is located at about 600 meters
