Kailasanathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Keelacheruvai Village in Thittagudi Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kailasanathar and Mother is called as Shivagama Sundari. The Temple is situated on the northern banks of Vellaru River.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found facing the sanctum immediately after the entrance. Presiding Deity is called as Kailasanathar and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as Shivagama Sundari. She is housed in a separate east facing shrine.
There is an east facing Murugan Shrine in between Sanctum and Mother Shrine. Thus, forming the Somaskanda formation. There are shrines for Vinayagar, Murugan and Somaskanda in the temple premises. There is a Theertha well in front of the temple premises.
Connectivity
The Temple is located at about 3 Kms from Thittagudi Bus Stand, 4 Kms from Thittagudi, 12 Kms from Tholudur, 18 Kms from Pennadam Railway Station, 95 Kms from Cuddalore and 97 Kms from Trichy Airport. The Temple is situated on Thittagudi to Tholudur Route.
