Navaneetha Krishnan Temple,
Aduthurai, Thanjavur
Navaneetha Krishnan Temple is a
Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Aduthurai Town in
Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. It is located in
the heart of the town. The temple is about 300 years old.
The Temple
This is a small temple.
Presiding Deity is called as Navaneetha Krishnan. He is in dancing posture raising
one leg while holding butter in one hand. He is the gracing the devotees along
with Sathyabama and Rukmini. There is a shrine for Lord Hanuman in the temple
premises.
Festivals
The annual Brahmotsavam festival
is held during April and May (the Tamil month
of Chitirai).

500 meters from Aduthurai Bus Stand, 1 Km from Aduthurai Railway Station, 4 Kms
from Thiruvidaimaruthur, 14 Kms from Kumbakonam, 14 Kms from Kumbakonam Railway
Station, 23 Kms from Mayiladuthurai, 55 Kms from Thanjavur and 108 Kms from Trichy
Airport. Aduthurai Town is situated on the Mayiladuthurai
– Kumbakonam
highway, and buses are available from Mayiladuthurai and Kumbakonam. Various
private and government long haul buses stop here connecting this town with
major cities like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai.
