Madurantaka Choleeswarar Temple, Thozhuthur, Cuddalore
Madurantaka Choleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thozhuthur in Thittagudi Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Madurantaka Choleeswarar / Madurantaka Chozheeswara Mudaiya Nayanar and Mother is called as Periyanayaki / Brihannayaki. The Temple is situated on the banks of Vellaru River.





History
The temple was built in 967 AD as the inscriptions available in the temple. The temple was renovated and the Maha Mandapam was added in 1210 AD during Kulothunga Chola III.
