Sukhasana Perumal Temple, Thittagudi, Cuddalore
Sukhasana Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Thittagudi Town in Thittagudi Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Sukhasana Perumal and Mother is called as Vedanta Valli Thayar. This Temple is situated on the northern banks of Vellaru River.

History
The Temple contains 28 ancient inscriptions in total. Most of the inscriptions belongs to Rajaraja Chola II (1160 AD), Rajathiraja Chola II (1168 AD), Kulothunga Chola III (1181 AD), Rajathiraja Chola III (1242 AD), Jadavarma Sundara Pandya II (1271 AD), Veera Boopathi Udaiyar and Veera Kampana Udaiyar. The Temple had received patronage from Cholas, Pandyas and Vijayanagara Kings. The Temple had received patronage from Cholas, Pandyas and Vijayanagara Kings.
The Temple was under the control of Udayarpalayam Jamin during 17th Century CE. Chitramezhi Periyanattars and Ainootruvar merchant gilds jointly built this temple as per the inscription available in this temple. Thittagudi was called as Narasinga Chaturvedi Mangalam, Thiruchitrambala Chathurvedhimangalam and Vidyaranyapuram in ancient times. The temple is currently maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east with single tiered Rajagopuram. Dhwaja Sthambam, Balipeedam and Garudazhwar can be seen immediately after the entrance facing the sanctum. Presiding Deity is called as Sukhasana Perumal. He is housed in the sanctum in sitting posture flanked by Sridevi and Bhoodevi. He is facing towards east. Utsava idols of Varadaraja Perumal with his consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi, Chakrathazhwar and Andal can be seen here. Mother is called as Vedanta Valli Thayar. She is housed in a separate east facing shrine.
Her shrine is situated to the right side of the sanctum. There are shrines for Vinayaga, Ramar Patham (Lord Rama’s feet), Pattabhisheka Ramar, Chakrathazhwar, Yoga Narasimha and Andal in the temple premises. 10 Paasurams of Madhurakavi Azhwar were inscribed on stones in this temple during 13th Century CE. Sthala Vriksham is Vilva tree. It is unique as Vilva Tree is closely related to Lord Shiva.
Temple Opening Time
The Temple remains open from 07.00 AM to 11.00 AM and 04.30 PM to 09.00 PM.
Festivals
10 days Thai Brahmotsavam, 10 days Rama Navami, 9 days Navaratri, Krishna Jayanthi and other Vaishnavite festivals are celebrated here.
Connectivity
The Temple is located at about 500 meters from Thittagudi Bus Stand, 14 Kms from Pennadam, 14 Kms from Thozhuthur, 15 Kms from Pennadam Railway Station, 32 Kms from Virudhachalam and 99 Kms from Trichy Airport. The Temple is situated on Pennadam to Thozhuthur Route (Trichy – Cuddalore). There are direct buses from Trichy, Virudhachalam and Ariyalur  to Thittakudi.
