Amarnthaval Temple, Kanchipuram
Karukkinil Amarnthaval Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga located in Pillaiyarpalayam, a well-known locality in Kanchipuram City in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Karukkinil Amarnthaval / Durga / Kalarathri Durga. The temple was believed to be around 1500 years old and built by the Pallavas.
Legends
Karukku means Panai Maram (Palm tree) as well as mid night in Tamil. It is believed that Mother Durga annihilated Mahishasura at midnight sitting under a Palm tree here. Hence, Durga came to be called as Karukkinil Amarnthaval.

Navaratri, Deepavali, Naga Chathurthi, Karthigai Deepam, Arudhra Darshan,
Chithra Pournami, Tamil New Year, Pongal, Shivaratri, Pournami and Fridays are
celebrated here with much fanfare.

This temple is considered as Naga Dosha Nivarthi
Sthalam. Devotees worship her to remove marriage obstacles, job promotion,
longevity for husband life and relief from diseases.
