Thirukameswarar Temple, Pothiramangalam, Cuddalore

Thirukameswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Pothiramangalam Village near Thiruvattathurai in Thittagudi Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Thirukameswarar and Mother is called as Aara Amudham.

The Temple

The ancient temple is completely lost with only sanctum remaining. Presiding Deity is called as Thirukameswarar. Presently he is housed in the thatched shed in the form of Lingam. Nandi can be found facing the presiding deity. Mother is called as Aara Amudham. There is no idol of mother present in the temple. Ever her shrine is also lost to Mother nature.

The Temple is located at about 4 Kms from Thiruvattathurai, 5 Kms from Thittagudi Bus Stand, 6 Kms from Thittagudi, 10 Kms from Pennadam, 12 Kms from Pennadam Railway Station, 88 Kms from Cuddalore, 105 Kms from Trichy Airport, 235 Kms from Chennai Airport and 257 Kms from Chennai. The Temple is situated on Thittagudi to Pennadam Route.
