Srivilliputhur Andal Temple is a popular 2000 years old Hindu Temple and one of the 108 Divya Desams, the most important abodes of Lord Vishnu. The Temple is located in Srivilliputhur Town in Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu. The temple has two divisions; the one of Andal located on the Southwest and the second one of Vatapatrasayi (Vishnu) on the Northeast direction. It is the birthplace of two of the most important alvars (saints) in the Vaishnavite tradition namely Periyazhwar and Andal. The 192 ft high temple tower is 2nd only to Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Rajagopuram (236 ft) among the Divya Desams.

The official emblem of the Government of Tamilnadu is the magnificent temple tower of the Srivilliputhur Temple. The 9-tier temple chariot is said to be the biggest in Tamil Nadu. The temple follows Thenkalai tradition of worship. Six daily rituals and three yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the Aadippooram festival, the birthday of Andal, celebrated during the Tamil month of Adi (July - August), is the most prominent. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
