Kundala Karaneshwarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Thirukkurankaval Village near Vaitheeswaran Koil in Mayiladuthurai Taluk in Mayiladuthurai District of Tamil Nadu, India. Presiding Deity is called as Kundala Karaneswarar / Kundaleswarar and Mother is called as Bala Tripura Sundari / Kunthalambigai / Elasoundari. This Temple is considered as one of the five Sthalams whose name ends with “Ka” (Ka means beautiful garden in Tamil). They are Thiruvanaikka, Thirukkodikka, Thirukolakka, Tirunellikka and Thirukurakkukka.

Temple is considered as the 82nd Paadal
Petra Shiva Sthalam and 28th Sthalam
on the north side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu. This place is
also called as Thiru Kurakkukka or Thiru Korangu Kukka. This temple is famously
called as Shiva Bhakta Anjaneyar temple. The Temple is situated on the banks of
River Uppanar.

Festivals
Aippasi Annabishekam (Oct – Nov),
Thiru Karthikai (Nov-Dec) and Masi Maha Shivrathri (Feb-Mar) and Hanuman
Jayanthi are the festivals celebrated in the temple. Special poojas are performed
on all Saturdays and new moon (Amavasya) days. Monthly pradoshams are also
observed regularly.
