Pallavaneswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located in the town of Kaveripoompattinam or Poompuhar, an archaeological site in Tamilnadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. It is situated on the birthplace of Saivite saint Pattinathar. The presiding deity is Shiva. He is called as Pallavaneswarar. His consort is known as Soundaryanayaki. It is one of the shrines of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Tevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Tirugnana Sambandar. This is the 64th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam  and 10th  sthalam on the north side of river Cauvery.

Temple Opening Time
The temple is open from 6.30 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and from 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
Festivals
Vaikasi Visakam in May-June and Aadi Pattinathar Vizha in July-August are the festivals observed in the temple. Brahmotsavam is not celebrated for Shiva in this temple but for Pattinathar only, known as Adiyar Utsav meaning festival of devotee.  Pattinathar festival is celebrated for 12 days in Aadi month-July-August.  The 10thday covers the event of Lord Shiva granting salvation to saint Pattinathar, celebrated in a very grand manner.

Prayers
People pray to Lord Pallavanathar for wise children and cultivating the trait of renunciation. Devotees perform special pujas to Lord, Mother and Pattinathar on realizing their wishes.

Connectivity
Thiruppallavaneeswaram is situated on the Sirkazhi - Poompuhar road, just before Poompuhar beach. The temple is 24 Kms far from Mayiladuthurai and 19 Kms from Sirkali. Buses are available from Sirkazhi, Chidambaram, Thituchaikadu and Mayiladuthurai. It is located in Kaveri Poompattinam (a Pallava period coastal town), now known as Poompuhar village. Another Paadal Petra Sthalam, Tiruchaaikkadu (Chaayaavanam) - Chaayaavaneswarar Temple is located very close to this temple. Nearest Railway Station is located at Mayiladuthurai and Nearest Airport is located at Trichy.
