Anandhanathar Jain Temple, Ananthapuram, Arani, Thiruvannamalai
Anandhanathar Jain Temple is located at Ananthapuram in Arani Town in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Ananthapuram is a part of Arni town near saidapet locality. The place is called as Ananthapuram because of this Jain Temple. The Temple got Garbhagriha, Arthamandapam and other aspects of Dravidian temple art design. The Entrance is north facing and the temple is surrounded by walls on all sides. An altar placed in front of the vedi-block alongside of the open corridor.





A black granite stone, totally etched, statue was installed on the plinth. The pedestal, Prabha back-circle are also incised along with the stone. Garbhagriha is with two tiers Vimana having four Jinar idols in each stage. Next to the gharbahriha, the chamber has metal idol of important pantheons placed on either side platforms. The prayer pavilion has a platform at the center for placing daily pooja idols as usual.





On either side platform consists of stone carved statues of Old Moolavar, Shri Anandhanathar, Shri Brahmadevar were established. Another platform has Kooshmandini, Padmavathy and Jwalamalini. A beautiful cement mortar statue of Shri Padmavathy is also placed in a separate shrine. The old Moolavar might be 600 years old sculpture. It has Samavasaran Jinars' eight aspects in its carving. All Jain poojas and rituals are conducted and festivals are celebrated regularly. Contact: +91 9442424001.





Ananthapuram is a part of Arni town near saidapet locality. The place is located at about 31 Kms from Vellore, 60 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 44 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
