Neminathar Jain Temple, Renderipattu, Thiruvannamalai
Neminathar Jain Temple is located at Renderipattu Village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. It is located at about 2 Kms from Polur town in the Arani road. The Temple is believed to be constructed in early 20th Century. But the moolavar Shri Neminathar statue was brought from Visharam, near Arcot. It is believed that Moolavar Idol can be dated back to 9th – 11th Century.



The Jinalaya is very small in size. It has Garbhagriha, Arthamandapam and Mugamandapam. The Entrance is north facing and Sanctum is east facing. The temple is surrounded by walls on all sides. It has a single prakara and Nandavanam is located on its Southside. The Moolavar statue of Neminathar stone plate carving, a bas-relief, has 4 feet height with Samavasaran Jinar's eight features of beautiful itchings and is on the plinth.


Shamara (whisk) maids has Prabha circle on their back is a unique art. Above the sanctum a simple Dravidian style vimana with Shikhara and Kalasha was constructed. Shri Neminathar is in the Sugasana Dthyan posture. Arthamandapam consists of center platform has Daily pooja metal idol of Shri Neminathar. On either side raised structure has metal alloy idols of Thirthankars, Nantheeswara Deepam, Yaksha, Yakshis and Ashtamangala models.


In the Mugamandapam two Dwalabalagar stone statues are established on either side of aisle. At front of the vedi-structure an altar is placed in the open corridor. Also a new absolute incised Statue of Shri Neminathar in the Dhyan sitting posture was seated on a platform has small roof on the overhead.


All Jain poojas and rituals like Daily pooja, quarterly Nantheeswara pooja, Annul festivals like Mukkudai, Navarathri, are conducted regularly with the assistances of the local Jain families. 


The Temple is located at about 2 Kms from Polur town in the Arani road. The Temple is located at about 28 Kms from Chetpet, 37 Kms from Thiruvannamalai, 25 Kms from Arani and 57 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
