Pushpathanathar
Jain Temple is located at Thirupanamoor Village in Thiruvannamalai District of
Tamilnadu. Thirupanamoor village is located southwest of Kanchipuram. This Jain
Temple belongs to 15th Century. Main Deity is Shri Pushpathanathar. The
corridor surrounded by compound walls and having east facing Main entry,
crowned by small tower.
Then an
altar; Manasthampam pillar, consists of four Thirthankars engraving at the
bottom and small temple design with four standing Thirthankars on the top.
Beginning of the corridor has pavilions of 24 Thirthankars footprints
(individual block), three footprints of celibates, Shri Bhagavan Bahubali are
constructed. Next a beautiful garden comprises of all fruit trees and flower
shrubs. On the north a Santhi (Kalasha) mandapa got a jina library.
Middle
of the corridor i.e. vedi block: Sanctum, crowned by two stage vimana with shikhara
and Kalasha. First stage consist four Thirthankars on four directions, in
sitting posture; and another four on the griva position in standing posture.
Shri Pushpathanathar embraces the vedi-pedestal. The statue is made of lime mortar,
with eight features of Samavasaran Jinar, multicolored, looking beautifully.
Arthamandapam
contains all metal idols of Thirthankars, Parswanathar, Bahubali covered by
Praba structure, Nava devatha, Panchaparameshti, 72 and 24 Thirthankars
cluster, Sruthaskandam, Yakshas, and Yakshis are exhibits on a wooden bench on
both side. Next in Mahamandapam, Shri Pushpathanathar stone idol with eight
features, designed as Jinar in protrude carving, for daily Abhishek and pooja.
North of
the pavilion, stone statues of Parswanathar, Dharanendrar, Brahmayakshan,
Padmavathy, Jwalamalini is arranged on platform. On the way to karanthai
village, a Nishathisthana mandapa is built dedicated to Shri Agalanka Acharyar
is located on west side of the road. In addition to regular poojas a float urchavam
is celebrated for Shri Dharanendrar Padmavathy in the March months and Nantheeswara
Ashtanigam are celebrated.
Thirupanamoor
village is located southwest of Kanchipuram on Kanchipuram to Vandavasi Route.
After travelling 17 Kms towards Vandavasi and take a right turn at
Ayyangarkulam junction towards Kalavai and travel for another 3 Kms to reach
this Temple. The Temple is located at about 46 Kms from Vandavasi, 45 Kms from
Arani and 20 Kms from Kanchipuram. Nearest Railway Station is located at
Kanchipuram and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
