Bheemeshwarar Temple, Mudichur – History
It is believed that the temple had been extensively damaged during the Manimangalam War fought between Narasimha Varma Pallava of Pallava Dynasty and Pulikesi II of Chalukya Dynasty in 642 AD. The Temple was in complete neglect after this war.  The Temple got its deserved attention during 1980s. 
It is believed that Saint Ramanuja had given a religious discourse in this temple on his way to Sriperumbudur. In the 1800s, Also, it is believed that Sri Appariyaar Swamy have collected the Nalayira Divya Prabhandham, available in various manuscripts and managed them to get printed.
