Sundareswarar Temple, Chathiram Karuppur, Thanjavur
Sundareswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Chathiram Karuppur, an outskirt of Kumbakonam Town in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Sundareswarar and Mother is called as Meenakshi. The Temple belongs to Thiruppanandal Kasi Madam.




The Temple
The Temple is east facing but the main entrance is from the southern side. Presiding Deity is called as Sundareswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found facing the sanctum. Dakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhava (Bana Linga), Durga and Brahma are the Koshta idols located around sanctum walls. Chandikeswarar can be found in his usual location.




Mother is called as Meenakshi. She is housed in a separate south facing shrine. Bala Ganapathy and Bala Dhandapani can be found at the entrance of the sanctum. There are shrines of Navagrahas and Bhairavar in the Temple premises. There is a well in the Temple premises acts as Theertham of this Temple.
