Chidambareswarar Temple is a
Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Kotlampakkam near Panruti Town
in Panruti Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamilnadu. Presiding
Deity is called as Chidambareswarar / Chitrambalanathar and Mother is called as
Sivagamasundari. The Temple is considered as
Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about this Temple. As per Periya Puranam, the place was mentioned
as Madam (religious mutt) located near to Thiruvathigai Paadal Petra Sthalam.

The Temple
This is an east facing Temple with three tiered
Rajagopuram. Nandi housed in a Mandapam and Balipeedam can be found immediately
after Rajagopuram facing the sanctum. There is a small shrine for Vinayaga
before Balipeedam. This is the first shrine to be seen immediately after the
entrance. Presiding Deity is called as Chidambareswarar / Chitrambalanathar. He
is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as Sivagamasundari.
She is housed in a separate shrine.
There is a shrine for Annamalaiyar with his consort
Unnamulai Amman in the Temple premises. There are shrines of Veeerabadhra,
Navagrahas, Nataraja, Kala Bhairava, Suryan, Agastya with his consort
Lopamudra, Dakshinamoorthy, Selva Ganapathy, Naalvar, Lakshmi Narasimha, Lord
Murugan with his consorts Valli & Deivanai and Anjaneya in the Temple
premises.

Temple is located at about 4 Kms from Panruti Bus Stand, 4 Kms from Panruti
Railway Station, 21 Kms from Thiruvennainallur, 25 Kms from Viluppuram, 30 Kms
from Cuddalore, 50 Kms from Puducherry, 53 Kms from Puducherry Airport and 172
Kms from Chennai Airport. The Temple is situated on Panruti to Thiruvennainallur
Route. The Temple is situated next to Pudupet.
