Kala Bhairavar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Bhairava, a fierce form of Lord Shiva, located in Vembedu Village in Thiruporur Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. It is said that devotees should visit this Temple first before visiting Kattur Uthira Vaidhya Lingeswarar Temple. This Temple is situated on a hillock called Bhairavar Malai near Kattur Uthira Vaidhya Lingeswarar Temple.
Legends
As per legend, Sage Agastya installed Bhairava on eight directions in this region. It is said that this temple is considered one among the eight temples.
The Temple
This Temple is situated on top of a 300 feet high hillock. There are about 101 steps to reach this temple. Several Stone idols of Elephant can be seen in front of the sanctum. The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of Sanctum and Ardha Mandapam. Presiding Deity is called as Kala Bhairava and he is housed in the Sanctum. There is a shrine for Vinayaga at the back side of the Sanctum.
Temple Opening Time
The Temple remains open from 04.00 PM to 06.00 PM in the
evenings. The Temple remains open full day on Ashtami days.

People pray to Kala Bhairava to get relief from
Navagraha Doshas in particular Sani Dasa.
