Sirkazhi Nathar Temple, Unjanai, Namakkal

Sirkazhi Nathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Unjanai Village in Tiruchengode Taluk in Namakkal District in Tamil Nadu. The temple is believed to be built by the Pandyas.


The Temple

This temple is facing towards east and is in ruined state. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found in front of the temple facing towards the sanctum. The temple consists of sanctum and ardha mandapam. The sanctum enshrines the presiding deity, Sirkazhi Nathar in the form Shiva Lingam. Naga Idols can be seen at the entrance of the ardha mandapam on either side.

The temple is located at about 200 metres from Unjanai Bus Stop, 8 Kms from Tiruchengode, 9 Kms from Tiruchengode Central Bus Stand, 17 Kms from Sankagiri Durg Railway Station, 20 Kms from Sankagiri, 32 Kms from Namakkal, 33 Kms from Rasipuram, 33 Kms from Erode, 75 Kms from Salem Airport and 120 Kms from Coimbatore Airport. The temple is situated on Namakkal to Tiruchengode route.
