Chandramouleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Arungundram Village in Vellore District of Tamilnadu. This Temple is also called as Thiripura Sundari Sakthi Peetam. This Temple complex consists of Lord Muruga, Shiva, Perumal, Naagar and Maha Thiripura Sundari Sakthi Peetam is built under the guidance of Sri Muragashram Swamigal on a small hillock called Hariharan Kundram.

The Temple
This Temple complex consists of Lord Muruga, Shiva, Perumal, Naagar and Maha Thiripura Sundari Sakthi Peetam is located on top of a small hillock. It is now called Hari-Haran Kundram. It is beautiful and well maintained. The old sculptures recovered are now kept in this temple. The statue of Aditya i.e Surya in this temple belongs to transition period from Pallavas to Cholas, around 850-900 CE. Except for very minute damage in the nose it is well preserved. A Linga also belonging to the same period was recovered. It is currently under worship in the temple.






Chandikeswara belonging to earlier period may be around 7-8th century is kept inside the temple. Sapta Matas is another striking piece of sculpture is recently excavated and kept in the temple premises. A separate temple is being built for Amman on the lower reaches of the hillock. Near this an excavated piece of lower portion of a sculpture depicting Vishnu is kept. An inscription belonging to 19th century could be seen on a rock adjacent to the road.






The Chandramouleeswarar temple has now been renovated and goddess Tripurasundari Sannadhi has been installed. Kumbabishekam was performed on 8 June 2006. At the same time, the Singara Velar Sannadhi and Vara siddhi Vinayakar Sannadhi were also built. On 1 December 2006, Kumbabishekam was performed for the newly constructed Sannidhis for Lord Venkateshwara Perumal and Padmavathy Thayar. On 23 March 2008, Kumbabhishekam was performed for the five Pancha Bootha lingams representing earth, water, fire, air and space.




Festivals
Daily poojas for all the deities and concerned Utsavams for lord Muruga, lord Shiva, lord Vigneshwara, lord Venkateshwara, goddess Padmavati and goddess Thiripurasundari are being performed regularly. Adi Kirthikai, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Maha Shivarathri, Pradosham, Friday poojas, Navarathri celebrations, Vaikunta Ekadasi and Srinivasa Kalyanam are being performed every year.

The Temple is located at about 1 Km from Arungundram Dharmeshwarar Temple, 11 Kms from Vilapakkam, 10 Kms from Arcot, 14 Kms from Ranipet, 17 Kms from Walajapet, 32 Kms from Vellore and 125 Kms from Chennai. Nearest Railway Station is Ranipet Railway Station (14 Kms) and Nearest Airport is Chennai International Airport (115 Kms).
