Kasi Viswanathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva located at Ayanavaram, well-known locality of Chennai City in Tamil
Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kasi Viswanathar and Mother is called as Kasi
Visalakshi. The temple was constructed by the Tawker clan of
Madras' Guajarati community and was constructed during the time of
the East India Company. The temple is situated
close to the Medavakkam Tank Road and adjoins the Ayanavaram Bus Depot.

The Temple
The Temple faces east with a large entrance doorway.
Presiding Deity is called as Kasi Viswanathar and is facing east. Mother is
called as Kasi Visalakshi and is facing south. There are shrines and Idols of Brahma,
Maha Vishnu, Natarajar, Sivakami Amman, Bhairavar, Dakshinamurthy, Devi Durgai
Amman, Brahmi, Maheswari, Kaumari, Varahi, Indrani, Chamundi, Vinayagar,
Nagalingam, Sri Murugan, Anjaneyar, Chandikeswarar, Navagrahas, Chandran and Suryan
in the Temple premises.

The Temple is situated close to the Medavakkam Tank Road
and adjoins the Ayanavaram Bus Depot. The temple is adjoining the Konnur High
Road near the Ayanavaram Bus Terminus and easy to locate. The Temple is located
at about 200 meters from Ayanavaram Bus Depot, 200 meters from Ayanavaram Bus
Stop, 5 Kms from Anna Nagar East Metro Station, 3 Kms from Perambur Railway
Station, 5 Kms from Egmore Railway Station, 6 Kms from Chennai Central Railway
Station, 10 Kms from Koyambedu Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus and 18 Kms from
Chennai Airport. The Temple can be easily reached easily either by public
transport or by auto rickshaw/taxi, as the temple is located in a prime
location of Chennai.
